Though it was untold aeons ago that this plan was set into motion, and most of her life that she has been preparing for it, it is only today that she will be given a theme for her deck!

That sounds like the perfect perfect deck theme idea! You LOVE practical effects in movies, and mechs are about as intricate as that art gets - of course, mechs didn't really have a place in practical effects outside of stop-motion animation until around the 70000s, so claiming them as part of your special interest is a little anachronistic with the early 21st century vibe you try to cultivate.
